STENCA's SPONSORSHIP DEALS 2012
Children should not just survive - they should be able to live a normal life.
That is why Stenca supports the CHILD CANCER FOUNDATION by sponsoring Team Rynkeby 2012!
Team Rynkeby is a Danish-Swedish charity cycling team, who each summer ride their bikes from Denmark to Paris to raise money for Child Cancer Foundation in Denmark and the Child Cancer Foundation in Sweden.
Team Rynkeby was founded in 2002 by employees of the Danish juice company Rynkeby Foods A/S, who is also the team's main sponsor.
In 2012 Rynkeby Team consists of 790 riders and 170 assistants in 13 Danish and 4 Swedish teams. The Danish team collects money for the Children's Cancer Foundation in Denmark, while the Swedish team collects money for Child Cancer Foundation in Sweden.
When the Children's Cancer Foundation began its work 16 years ago, more than half of the 200 children who each year are diagnosed with cancer in Denmark died - fortunately it is not like that anymore! Recent research in children's cancer has resulted in better and more effective treatments, wich means that three out of four children now survive cancer.
The Children's Cancer Foundation works to ensure that no child should die of cancer. And not only that. The Fund also works for the children who are cured, must will be able to live as normal lives after their illness, as they did before. Some of the children who survive cancer today will survive with consequences of the treatments. Some can not have children when they become adults, some must have amputated limbs, while others suffer permanent brain damage and will never be able to take care of themselves.
The Child Cancer Foundation was established to strengthen the research of effective treatments, so we can avoid the terrible consequences. Additionally, it works to increase the information on childhood cancer and improve conditions for affected children and their families.
In 2011 Team Rynkeby gathered 9.772 million DKK for the fight against childhood cancer - in 2012 we hope it will be ever more, and that why Stenca has chosen to make a sponsorship agreement with Team Rynkeby this year!
